Hottest Hound’s in Town Party
at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa
- K9 Wine & Dine Fundraiser, 27 August 2006 -
Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa is taking ‘pet friendly hotel’ to the new level by hosting Whistler’s premier pooch party, the annual K9 Wine & Dine Fundraiser on Sunday evening of August 27, 2006.
K9 Wine & Dine is the major fundraiser for Whistler Animals Galore (WAG), and promises to be night filled with entertainment. In the Courtyard at Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa dogs will enjoy a canine celebration like no other – there will be a 3-course dinner for dogs and a buffet spread for beings; a howling live performance by The Hairfarmers; fashionistas will strut their four-legged stuff on the ‘dogwalk’; plus there’ll be time for puppy portraits, paw readings as well as live and silent auctions.
"As a hotel that welcomes dogs, Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa is proud to be in association with WAG – a tremendous local non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing literally hundreds of dogs a year”, said Pradeep Puri, the hotel’s General Manager.
Carol Coffey WAG’s Executive Director and organizer of K9 Wine and Dine says that many residents of this famously dog friendly resort began life as unwanted puppies or have suffered the trauma of being abandoned as their itinerant ‘people’ move away.
"Working with a community minded business such as Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa allows us to hold these events, helping us reach people who may have otherwise been unaware of WAG and its importance in this community”, she said. “Funds raised from K9 Wine & Dine will go to WAG for public information programs and advocacy efforts to save hundreds of dogs from euthanasia”.
